INSTRUCTIONS FOLLOW BELOW:

Tools and Materials

• Parchment paper
• White ink and mapping pen
• Extra small, small and medium ball embossing tools
• Embossing pad
• Grid (fine mesh) and one-needle perforating tool
• Two needle and Straight 4 perforating tools
• Perforating mat
• Dorso crayons or watercolour pencils and oil
• Parchment scissors or cutter
• Tassel (optional)

Instructions

1. Trace the fan stick pattern using white ink and mapping pen.
2. Trace a total of 7 sticks.
3. Emboss the design by referring to the fan picture.
4. Perforate the areas designated for gridwork using the one-needle tool and your own fine grid.
5. Dorse or colour the back portion of the fan sticks with a light blue shade or a colour of your choice.
6. Perforate all the areas designated for cutwork including the stick outlines, using the two-needle perforating tool or the Straight-4 perforating tool.
7. Cut out all perforated areas using the parchment scissors or cutter.
8. Assemble all the sticks together and glue sparingly the overlapping edges of each stick.
9. Attach a tassel if so desired.
